This course covers the following topics:
- Handling a portafilter machine
- Fine-tuning the espresso grinder for delicious coffee as a basis for latte art
- Technology for perfect milk foam
- Various latte art patterns (heart, tulip, rosetta)
The course is led by Dario Pieber, the reigning Swiss Latte Art Champion.
This group course takes place at our Kaffee am Stauffacher: Rent a Barista, Kasernenstrasse 1, 8004 Zurich.
Danke Dario für den coolen Latte Art Kurs. Wir fanden es wertvoll, dass wir auch andere Barista-Themen aufgefrischt haben, wie z.B.: Einstellung der Mühle, zu lange vs. zu kurze Extraktionszeit, unterschiedliche Bohnen, Reinigung der Maschine, etc.
--> Somit kein reiner Latte Art Kurs, was bei 4 Stunden Kursdauer aber sehr gut aufgeteilt war. MERCI!
I attended the group Latte Art course with the expectation that we would be spending 4 hours practicing latte art. Instead, it was more about how grind the coffee, extracting the coffee and coffee theory and later cleaning and maintenance of a coffee machine. There was around 1 hour and half of practicing latte art only which in my opinion and expectation was too little. If you come to this course as a total beginner, this is totally great for you. However, if you are a coffee aficionado and can pour some latte art and want to improve the technique, you will leave with a feeling of not having practiced enough. Despite this, I must say that Dario was a great instructor and very passionate about coffee and his job. I would recommend Rent a Barista to offer two types of courses: one for beginners and one for more advanced audience with prerequisite of knowing how to grind, extract coffee and know the theory of steaming the milk but want to improve the latte art skills.
Der Latte Art Kurs mit Dario war super! Er hat alles klar erklärt und mir tolle Tipps gegeben. Die Atmosphäre war entspannt, und ich konnte viel lernen. Sehr empfehlenswert!
Es war wirklich eine tolle Erfahrung mit Dario. Du bist so eine Ruhe in Person. Es hat Spaß gemacht, mit dir zu lernen und mehr über die Technik von Latte Art zu erfahren. Ich wünsche dir und Ernesto alles Gute für die Zukunft, viel Erfolg und bis bald chicos! 😃☕️
