For the Arabica portion in our Super Normal, we chose a coffee from El Salvador from the La Majada cooperative.
About the La Majada cooperative
Until the 1960s, San José de La Majada, in southwest El Salvador, was home to many small coffee farmers, many of whom suffered financial difficulties. Three visionary farmers, Fredy Álvaro Díaz, Estanislao Bonifacio Ordóñez, and Rubén Ovidio Beltrán, founded the "Sociedad Cooperativa de Cafetaleros de San José de La Majada" cooperative to address these challenges. Today, almost 60 years later, the cooperative relies on modern technology and high processing standards to provide its members with economic stability and achieve international recognition.
